Turkmenistan Opens Doors for US Investment

The National Leader of Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, stated that Turkmenistan is exploring opportunities to attract American investment and technology for the development of innovative and high-tech industries.

He emphasised the need to diversify the economy, implement advanced manufacturing, and carry out major national and international infrastructure projects. According to him, cooperation with the United States is built on a mutually beneficial basis, and American companies have already implemented projects in Turkmenistan worth around USD 45 billion, covering the energy, transport, agriculture, and IT sectors. Among these, he highlighted John Deere, General Electric, Case, Boeing, Coca-Cola, Sikorsky, and Caterpillar.

The National Leader noted that there remains significant potential to expand joint projects and confirmed that the United States is regarded by Turkmenistan as a friendly and reliable partner.
