Turkmenistan has defined the main priorities of its chairmanship of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) for 2026. These include strengthening peace and security, developing economic and transport cooperation, advancing digital transformation, supporting environmental initiatives, and fostering humanitarian relations among countries in the region.

More than twenty major events are planned during the chairmanship, including meetings of the Council of Heads of Governments, the Economic Council, the Council of Foreign Ministers, and the Council of Heads of States of the CIS. Some of these meetings will be held in Turkmenistan, providing a platform to enhance dialogue and implement joint projects across various sectors.
