On 20 February, the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan discussed plans to modernise the country’s transport infrastructure. Deputy Prime Minister B. Annamamedov reported on the reconstruction of one of the country’s key highways — the Ashgabat–Dashoguz road.

Preparations are underway for an international tender to construct the upgraded route, which will include a new bridge along the corridor.
The road modernisation aims to improve freight and passenger transport, enhance the transport sector, and strengthen international transport cooperation.

The President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasised the strategic importance of the Ashgabat–Dashoguz highway, approved the proposed plans, and instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to oversee the implementation of the necessary works.
